Frequently asked questions. Everything to know before your first sample.
From minimums and yarns to lead times and shipping, here are the questions brands ask us most. For anything else, our team in Ulaanbaatar is one email away.
Do I need knitwear experience to work with you?
Experience is optional. An idea, a sketch, a reference garment or a full tech pack is enough to start. Our in-house designers support both the creative and the technical side, so the final product fits your price point and your customers.
Do you produce private label knitwear?
Yes. Private label is at the heart of what we do: every piece is developed and produced exclusively for your brand.
Where are you based?
In Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Clients and visitors are always welcome for a coffee and a visit to our ateliers.
Which fibres do you work with?
Mongolian cashmere, yak down, Sartuul wool and camel.
Which gauges do you knit?
We knit in 5, 7, 12 and 16 gauge. Yak, camel and Sartuul wool are knitted in 5, 7 and 12 gauge; cashmere in all four.
What are the yarn minimums for colours?
Stock colours are available from 1 kg. Custom-dyed colours start from 50 to 100 kg per colour.
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our minimum is 50 units per style, combined across sizes and colours.
What are your prices?
Pricing depends on the fibre, gauge, design and quantity. To give you a clear reference, we share on request a catalogue of past products with their prices. Request the catalogue at [email protected].
Can you take care of labels, swing tags and packaging?
Yes. Most clients send us their brand labels, and we usually produce the care labels here. All labels can also be made in Mongolia if you prefer. We also take care of swing tags and eco-friendly packaging from Better Packaging Co.
How long does sampling take?
Making a sample takes 1 to 2 weeks. Shipping then takes about 5 working days to most destinations.
How long does bulk production take?
Between 2 weeks and 2 months, depending on quantity and complexity. We always work to meet your deadline.
How do you control quality?
Every piece is checked twice before shipment, by two qualified quality controllers. For collections that call for it, we can also arrange a visit from an independent inspector from a certified inspection company, so your order is verified before it leaves Mongolia.
Which carrier do you use?
We usually ship with DHL, Express or Global, where we have very competitive rates. We are equally happy to ship with your preferred carrier.
Is there import duty from Mongolia to the EU?
Knitwear made in Mongolia enters the European Union free of customs duty under the GSP+ scheme, with a proof of origin we provide. Only local VAT applies on import.
